What the generator delivers

Six features for Swiss practice

CO art. 330a compliant

Structured per claim content: personal details, role, duration, activity, assessment — and on request supplemented by closing formula.

Kompass and Classic

Both Swiss standards in one generator: modern plain-text style (Kompass) or classic code tradition — depending on target audience.

Compliance check

Identifies hidden codes, missing claim parts, inconsistencies between grade and phrasing — all before printing.

Four-eyes workflow

Supervisor drafts, HR reviews and releases — on request with audit trail of who changed what when.

QR validation

Every reference receives a content fingerprint and QR code — recipients can verify authenticity at any time via a public verification link.

HR integrations & Excel

Master data (people, company, hiring, role) is taken from your HR system (bexio, Personio, SAP SuccessFactors) or via Excel import — no double maintenance, no typos.

Federal law instead of cantonal law

Use in all cantons

The Swiss work reference is regulated under federal law in Art. 330a Code of Obligations. There are no cantonal special forms, no separate legal bases per canton. The generator is therefore identically usable in each of the 26 cantons.

Scalable

For which organisational forms?

  • SME (1–50 employees): Simple solo workflow — one person creates and releases, templates save repetition.
  • HR departments (50–500): Four-eyes workflow — supervisor drafts, HR reviews, audit trail documents.
  • Large companies / groups (500+): Multi-tenant — own templates per business unit, SSO/SCIM, API.
Choice in the wizard

Three standards — pick the right one

ZeugnisPilot supports three Swiss reference-letter standards. You decide per letter which fits — no commitment at onboarding.

Classic

traditional

Flowing prose in the classic Swiss style. Familiar structure (intro, tasks, performance, conduct, closing).

  • Code language ("always to the fullest satisfaction") — still scanned by the compliance check
  • Correct goodwill levels ensured automatically
  • High recognition value in traditional industries
  • PDF with QR code & content fingerprint

Arbeitszeugnis 2.0

structured

Structured one-page layout instead of prose: data, five rated competencies, strengths circles. Modern, readable, easy to compare.

  • Single A4 page — all core data at a glance
  • 5-point scale per competency (insufficient → excellent)
  • 5 top activities + 5 strengths circles + "Good to know"
  • No AI generation needed — direct PDF output

The choice is made in the first step of the wizard — and can be set individually per reference.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does the generator work in all 26 cantons?
Yes. The Swiss work reference is regulated under federal law in Art. 330a CO — there are no cantonal special forms. The generator is identically usable everywhere, from Geneva to St. Gallen.
Is the generator suitable for SMEs and groups?
Yes. SMEs use the standard workflow (one person creates and releases), HR departments the four-eyes workflow, larger organisations optionally a multi-tenant setup with templates per business unit.
Which languages are supported?
The generator works primarily in German — the language of Swiss work reference law and the majority of positions. Marketing content is available in FR/IT/EN; legal statements are deliberately kept only in German because CO terms and goodwill tradition would be lost in translation.
How long does a reference take in the generator?
Initial setup of a template: about 30 minutes (one-off). Per reference afterwards typically 10–15 minutes — from wizard start to signature-ready PDF.
What does the generator cost?
There is a free start plan and tiered plans by employee or reference volume. Details on the pricing page.
Where is my data?
Swiss hosting, data processing per Swiss FADP. A data processing agreement is provided on request.
